Jacobson 3810 5 gang mower. I purchased this mower a few months back in the belief the owner of the small airfield in which I am a member would buy it from me to cut the strips with instead of the old knackered tractor we currently use, however I did not foresee him being the tightest thing this side of Rod Stewart s jeans! So here it is for sale. The mower has a Kubota 4 cylinder diesel engine producing around 37hp, it starts on the button with no issues.I purchased the mower as a non-runner and have completed the following New head gasket (just because it had sat around and I wanted to check bores, valves etc),New thermostat,New start/stop solenoid (the reason it would not run),New ignition switch,All new filters and oil including the hydraulic filters,Replaced the battery,Fitted new diode pack to the alternator (now charges battery).Replaced the hydraulic oil.Sorted the wiring. As you can see I have completed a lot of work and as we were going to use it, I made sure all the work was completed properly as I did not want to be doing it again in the future.There are a few more points of attention needed before the mower can go into service, these are the following items I have noted Throttle pedal needs re-bushing,One hydraulic hose on one of the front gangs needs replacing as it is leaking very slightly,Seat switch needs re-instating,Lower side panels missing although this does not affect the operation at all.One bearing on the N/S side gang needs replacing (all the others are good along with all of the rollers)Gangs all need sharpening and setting up (I have the back-lapping compound ready)And lastly the hydraulic motor for the cooling fan is noisy and requires attention (I was going to remove it and fit an electric fan?) The mower starts and runs well, all switches work along with all of the gauges (apart from the fuel gauge) The hydraulics are strong as well as having very good oil pressure. The machine is low hours for its age (2459) and has plenty of life left in it. The Gangs look as if they have all been refurbished sometime in the past as they all have good bearings and plenty of meat left on the knives. Obviously the mower is not new so don t expect it to be. All I am after is recovering my money it owes me which is why I am starting the auction at that price so please, no silly offers.You will need a car transporter trailer to move it as it is very wide and I would like it gone within seven days of the auction finishing, if you can not do this please do not bid.
