John Deere Ride On Lawnmower.rx95.kawasaki Engine.runner.may Need A Little Tlc.

John Deere ride on lawnmower.Model RX95. Has not been used for 12 months-stood in dry barn. Brought it out into the daylight today on directions of the owner as it is now surplus to requirements. Pumped a couple of tyres up,soft not flat.Gave it a swill off. Started once given a sniff of carb cleaner as fuel in float bowl was stale,once the carb full was used ran and ticked over nicely. Kawasaki engine sounds all ok Took it for a spin across the yard and all seemed well with no nasty noises,engaged deck and cut some tall leggy ryegrass without trouble. I have had a look over the machine and noted the following points- Starter motor is slow and doesn t sound quite right,but sufficiently fast to start the engine.Always has been apparently. Max speed can be increased by lifting clutch pedal with your toe, suggesting a worn belt or some adjustment required. 2 ignition switches,one for on/off one for starter motor. Deck bearings whine a little but I hear far worse. Seat cover split. Owner says deck belt occasionally slipped off but it behaved itself today. 30 single blade deck,I don t know the condition of the blade. New battery fitted last spring. Seems a nice little mower that would benefit from some TLC. Don t consider buying this machine if you have no mechanical knowledge.
