Mountfield Hp414 15″ Petrol 4-wheel Push Rotary Lawnmower

Used Mountfield HP414 owned from new approx. 4 years ago This mower is currently running but likely needs a full service. The mower developed a small problem some months ago which I have fixed with a piece wood. Yes a piece of wood to keep it ticking over. I can t see anything broken although the faster / slower does not function correctly, hence the small piece of wood which keeps the motor running at the same speed.
