Mtd Lawnflite 504, Ride On Mower, 11.5hp, Rare Autorider Disability Parts Fitted

|
1988 Lawnflite 504 ride on mower with extremely rare Autorider engine cover and mudguards. I have owned this for a long time and it has been garage stored for a number of years, regrettably only selling due to now needing the space. Originally fitted from new with the 8hp Briggs and Stratton engine which was removed when the magnets fell out of the flywheel and made expensive sounding noises... The 504 was then stored for a while. A replacement 11.5hp IC engine with low hours was then fitted along with a rear axle rebuild for reliability, new belts, new 30 inch cutting deck and single piece blade (rather than the 8 bladed Wispa-Blow), rear wheels and wider front wheels were fitted from the larger Lawnflite model that the IC engine came from, the front beam axle was strengthened (open box section axle on the 504 are prone to bending), an extremely rare Autorider disability engine cover was sourced to keep out the elements, plus Autorider mudguards to keep the bodywork clean, plus a new battery. It was then used until being put back into storage where it has sat for a few years. After being stored the battery was dead flat, the 504 started 2nd turn of the key with a jumpstart, the battery may recover with a trickle charger or a long run or it may need replacing, there was no battery clamp so I made my own. It drives forwards and backward as it should, the cutting deck works as it should and the deck is in solid condition. It has had very minor welding on a couple of corner skids as these wear through. You may wish to replace the belts for reliability or use as is. The seat is in good condition with 2 small repairs and flaking paint on the back. The grass catching bag has a small hole but doesn t affect it s use. The spreader attachment has the spring clip missing plus it s had a repair to it but I ve never used it. The grass tube which runs from the deck to the bag also has had a repair but it doesn t affect it s use. As it has been in storage it will need a good service before use with the stale petrol drained off etc. The safety switch on the parking brake may need cleaning/adjusting, it was fine in use but starting it today I had to wiggle the parking brake pedal so it must have a dirty connection. There is no fuel gauge fitted in the cap and the 504 was always hosed off underneath after use. Tyres have age related cracks and run tubes. There are 2 small side lights fitted which run off of the IC lighting coil, one lens is missing. The 504 comes with the original set of wheels but the tyres are cracked. A spare grass catching bag is also included, plus some spare pulleys and bits. Paint work is age related with obvious rust spots for a 30 year old machine. So to recap, this is not a brand new John Deere ride on mower worth £5,000. It is a 30 year old classic ride on mower that is fast appreciating in value. The 504 is located on the Isle of Wight just a short hop from Lymington or Portsmouth and I am happy to meet you at any ferry after purchase and it s cash on collection only please. You bid to buy, no timewasters or tyre kickers please. If you want more photos or to see a video of it running please ask. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! I have also advertised this locally so if it sells I shall remove the listing. If you don t know
