HAYTER 48 SELF PROPELLED STEEL ROLLER LAWNMOWER 19 (480mm) Cut, 3.5hp Briggs Stratton Engine DESIGNED TO CUT WET AND DRY GRASSThis Hayter 48 Lawnmower is a one owner machine. It is in remarkable original condition and includes the Owners Handbook (see photos). It hasn t been used for some years since we moved and has been in a store since then, except to try it out last week. With the carburettor cleaned, fresh petrol and a new spark plug it started after 3 pulls on the starter cord. It was used with the other mower listed when we had a large garden and never let us down during that time. Hayter described these 19 cut machines as their domestic mower for larger lawns. It cost over £800 when new. They are known as the Rolls Royce of mowers and much sought after by professional gardeners. The Briggs Stratton 3.5hp engine is very powerful and it starts easily first or second pull using the pull-start handle. It has a heavy steel roller to the rear to give that professional striped effect.The engine/ground speed, choke and stop are controlled by levers on the handles The 7 spring loaded cutting heights are easily adjusted using a single lever on the deck.The wide aperture at the rear of the deck allows wet grass pick-up, unlike cheaper mowers.The body/deck of these mowers are heavy duty Cast Aluminium and do not rust.It folds up neatly for winter storage by unscrewing just one knob, (see photos).All the paintwork on the deck is original. There are NO flaky paint areas, (even under the deck)The strong Plastic 50 litre Grass Collector has no damage. No cracks or holes. I ve had a new spark plug fitted, air filter cleaned, the oil changed, the carburettor flushed and the blade sharpened for the new user as it s been stored for some time.This is a SELF PROPELLED mower, You can let it drive itself and stroll behind, or push it if you want to keep fit....
