Hayter Harrier 56 Lawn Mower – Self Propelled – Briggs & Stratton Electric Start

Greetings. You re looking at the top of the range of Hayter Pedestrian Mowers - The last in the range before you enter the realms of Ride-on machines. I ve owned this 22 inch roller driven mower for about three years now and it s always been 100% reliable. Always starts first time, and surprisingly economical considering the size of the engine (this mower uses less fuel to cut my lawns, than I used to use in my old smaller Mountfield or Qualcast mowers). This is an absolute workhorse, and in great condition, excepting a few minor scuffs (have a look at a few of the other examples of this mower on offer today), and in good working order. My only reason for selling is the fact it is quite heavy (53 Kg) and my wife and I are getting on a bit now, so we really need something lighter. This is the Model 561F with the following features:- 6 HP OHV Briggs and Stratton Intek Engine. 8 easily adjustable height settings. Cast alloy casing/chassis (never rusts) Tough ABS Underdeck (never rusts) Differential driven split rear roller. Larger Grass Bag. 22 Rotary Cut. Self propelled. Electric Start. NB: Although this model has an Electric Starter (which works), the battery really needs to be replaced (10 minutes of running charges it enough to start the engine again), but these can be bought on eBay for around £10, and it s simplicity itself to fit. It would probably benefit from a service too. A standard Pull-Cord is also provided (of course), to start the engine by hand. This is a British made model which sells new for £1,249. Easy to service (so I m told - I m not mechanical) and suitable for a medium to large lawn area. I have three lawns with a total area of approx, 240 Square Metres, and I can cut it all in less than 45 minutes. The split rear roller makes this machine very easy to turn, and creates that lovely professional striped finish that only a roller mower can produce. Cash on collection would be preferred. Due to the size and weight of this machine, THIS IS FOR COLLECTION ONLY. Although the handle will fold down, you will probably need a small van, or a trailer to collect this, in order to transport it safely.
