Mtd Lawnflite 558 38”cut Lawn Tractor Ride On Mower

MTD LAWNFLITE 558 38 CUT LAWN TRACTOR RIDE ON MOWER Here we have my late fathers MTD Lawnflite 558 38 cut lawn tractor. This is a good machine that runs well with no major problems, the machine was put into the garage 2 and a half years ago when my father passed away and has not been used since. As I have had to take over some of my late fathers responsibilities I have employed a gardener twice a month to keep the garden tidy, he has his own equipment so its not needed. The machine was removed from the garage a few weeks ago, the tires were pumped up (and stay up) and we managed to get the engine running with fresh fuel. The engine runs with no smoke, knocks, or rattles and does not leak oil however it has been stored for a long time so might need tinkering with, the engine is the industrial commercial cast iron Briggs and Stratton version which last longer and can be rebuilt, it has had a pull starter fitted along with the electric starter My father owned the machine for about 10 years, he removed the wiring and cut out switches as these can cause starting problems and it has a simple key starting circuit and an engine stop on the throttle lever. I have tried to charge the battery but I think it’s had it’s day, the cheap lawnmower batteries don’t last long anyway, it can be jump started from a car or use the pull starter if you don’t want to invest in a battery. My dad did look after the machine and for it’s year is in good condition, had I the time I would be using it now instead of paying a gardener. My 11 year old son touched up the body and cutting deck as he wanted something to do over the summer holidays and I think he has done a fairly good job of it. I have started the bidding at £145 and this mower is for collection however I could deliver within 20 miles of bs37 8tt after paypal and fuel costs.
