YARDMAN DX70 Made by MTD Yardman in Canada. Has been through our workshop bringing everything up together, nice tidy machine as per pictures. MTD is the largest independent manufacturer of garden machinery in the world. Imported and distributed by leading company EP Barrus who also hold good stocks of spare parts. When this model was introduced it soon became our best seller and for good reasons: It has an integrated grass box which is housed underneath the seat rather than being hung on the back so this means the machines is far shorter than usual ride on mowers. The cut is a full 27.5 inch and the machine is small enough to fit through a standard gate way. Grass collection is by the “Direct Collect” method so there are no long chutes or tubes for the grass to pass through so the grass collection performance is very good when the grass is wet or dry. To empty the grass box is very easy and it holds a large amount of grass. Once lifted out the grass box hinges open for easy emptying. The machine has a very tight 21” turning radius with proper gear and pinion steering which is very light. The machine has a variable drive speed which can be controlled by the foot pedal. The more you push the pedal down the faster you go, release and you stop. The machine has safety switches so that a child cannot simply turn a key to start, you have to put the brake on and be sat in the seat to start. The power is from a 8.5 HP Briggs Stratton I/C engine which is a low vibration type and runs on standard unleaded petrol. Starting is electric key start. It has five height of cut, the blades are engaged by a foot operated push pedal. Easy to use and quiet in operation.
